designing lighting global (dlg) is a digital magazine and a news portal that is focused on the global Business of Lighting Design™ providing business information to the world-wide lighting design community. The magazine features original content, interviews within the global community and highlights successful and award-winning lighting designs. The magazine focuses on architectural and entertainment lighting to professionals in the industry, including lighting designers, consultants, architects, interior designers, engineers, and end users.

Editor

Randy Reid is the editor of designing lighting (dl) magazine. He also publishes and edits the EdisonReport. Reid is president of LumEfficient, a company focused on industrial and hazardous lighting, and he also serves as the Executive Director of the National Lighting Bureau (NLB). Reid is a past president of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).

Ray Molony has been a writer on lighting design and the lighting industry for 30 years. He’s the head of content at the Build Back Better Awards, an initiative to celebrate and reward innovation, creativity, environmental leadership and social purpose in the built environment, the editor of the Circular Lighting Report and the chairman and co-organiser of the annual Circular Lighting Live event. He’s the award-winning author of the acclaimed book, Light: Re-Interpreting Architecture (Rotovision, 2014) which was translated into many languages. He studied engineering at Dublin City University.

He has held various roles including national sales manager, lighting, for Architectural Lighting (AL) magazine and Architect, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and sales manager for Contract Design and Facilities Design & Management magazines. He is publisher of designing lighting (dl) magazine and is vice president, advertising for designing lighting global (dlg). His passion is supporting specifiers and lighting manufacturers in growing their products/brands through effective, cost-effective marketing leading to world-class project design.
