Pharos to Showcase Dynamic Lighting Control for Sports Venues at Stadia Expo 2026

Stadia Expo 2026

Pharos Architectural Controls are proud to make their debut at the inaugural Stadia Expo this November, showcasing how dynamic lighting control can transform the matchday experience and support the evolving needs of modern sports venues.

Taking place at the Business Design Centre in London on 25–26 November, Stadia Expo brings together those responsible for designing, specifying and managing sports venues, from club executives and stadium operators to architects, consultants, technology specialists, and integrators.

Across the two days, Pharos will demonstrate how their dynamic lighting control solutions can help sports venues create memorable experiences for fans, improve operational flexibility and integrate lighting seamlessly within wider systems. From pre-match build-up and goal celebrations to team-colour displays across stadium interiors and façades, dynamic lighting offers new opportunities to build atmosphere and bring venues to life.

Pharos are an award-winning British manufacturer of dynamic lighting control solutions, delivering reliable, high-performance systems for sports arenas and stadia. With hardware and software designed and built in-house, Pharos combines specialist engineering expertise with dedicated technical support and a five-year warranty. Their systems operate independently around the clock, without requiring a PC or cloud connection for playback, providing robust, dependable control for demanding operational environments.

For sports venues, this combination of reliability, flexibility and performance is essential. Pharos solutions allow operators to programme lighting sequences for key moments throughout the matchday, whilst intuitive touchscreens and button stations enable staff to recall preset scenes or take manual control when needed. These interfaces can be positioned in locations such as match control rooms, media suites, and plant rooms, giving teams straightforward access to lighting functions on demand.

Integration is another important consideration for modern venues. Pharos supports industry-standard protocols including DMX, Art-Net, sACN and DALI, alongside options for show control, audiovisual integration, and building management systems such as KNX. This allows lighting to work alongside other technologies, helping create coordinated experiences whilst supporting the practical demands of day-to-day operations. Through Pharos Cloud, users can also remotely monitor and manage their systems, with fixture status monitoring and diagnostics available for RDM-enabled fixtures.

Pharos has demonstrated how these capabilities translate into real-world benefits through its experience across major sporting venues. At the bet365 Stadium, home of Stoke City FC, an integrated LED lighting upgrade brought together pitch lighting, RGBW under-bowl lighting and programmed matchday sequences. Keypads installed in match control, the media suite, and the grounds area gave staff convenient access to lighting controls, with the project having also reported a 51% reduction in energy use. Delivered by integrator Elite Control Services, the installation demonstrates how lighting upgrades can support both the atmosphere inside a stadium and its operational performance.

Elsewhere, Pharos control technology has been used to modernise and future-proof venues – for the 2025 IIHF World Championship, the lighting and AV systems at Avicii Arena in Stockholm were overhauled utilising Pharos technologies alongside Light Bureau to enable the coordination of DALI and DMX fixtures whilst integrating with existing SCADA and KNX systems. This enabled seamless delivery of lighting sequences, precise control and management with extended capabilities and flexibility for future events. At Steaua Stadium in Bucharest, Can & Power lighting installed pitch and RGB lighting, which can switch to team colours and synchronise with music, helping create a more immersive atmosphere. In Hungary’s Alba Arena, the team at BE LIGHT specified Pharos lighting controls to support flexible, dynamic façade and interior lighting for more than 20 different indoor sports, events, and concerts. Pharos provides stadiums and sporting facilities the versatility required to meet the demands of today’s multi-purpose venues.

Alongside these established capabilities, visitors to Stadia Expo will have the opportunity to discover new developments in Pharos Designer, the company’s dynamic lighting control software. These forthcoming enhancements introduce greater creative possibilities for lighting effects, interactivity and colour, exploring how lighting can move beyond fixed scenes and predetermined sequences to become more responsive, adaptable and engaging.

Ryan Sainsbury, Regional Sales Manager for the UK, Ireland, N. Europe and Benelux at Pharos, said “Dynamic lighting can play a huge role in creating memorable matchday experiences, whilst also providing venue operators with reliable, flexible control. Stadia Expo is a great opportunity to show how Pharos can bring these two priorities together.”

The Pharos team will be on hand throughout the exhibition to discuss the challenges facing sports venue operators, demonstrate how its solutions can support different project requirements, and explore opportunities for creating more connected, memorable lighting experiences.

Pharos look forward to meeting the Stadia Expo community and showing how flexible, reliable dynamic lighting control can help shape the next generation of sports and entertainment venues.
